While halogen and incandescent bulbs have been largely phased out in the UK and EU, some dimmers are still compatible for legacy installations. The V-Dim and V-Plus ranges are suitable for these loads. For most modern installations, we recommend LED lighting along with our LED dimmers mentioned above, which are optimised for LED lighting.
VARILIGHT dimmers are not designed to handle mixed lighting types on a single circuit. This includes combining halogen and LED lamps. With halogen lamps being phased out, most installations now use only dimmable LEDs, which ensures optimal performance and reduces the risk of overload.
Infra-red remote control is available on selected products like the V-Pro Multi-Point. IR remotes such as the YRC8 can be used within 10 metres line of sight. For smart control, we recommend the V-Pro Smart range, which works via app and voice control.
Yes, VARILIGHT offers a range of replacement dimmer modules that are compatible with many faceplates. Use the compatibility guides to ensure correct ratings and installation.
